Q-A Session with Global Cricket Community

1. Tell us what do you feel about your Cricket game currently?
Childhood ambitions made me eager to pursue a career in Cricket, represent the country, be associated with the game throughout life. However, I am a lawyer now and work schedule keeps me busy throughout the week. However, I intend to stay associated with Cricket as and when I find time. No matter how demanding and stressful work demands may get, passions should never be allowed to die down.

2. Since how long are you playing cricket?
Since the age of 6. I was introduced to the game by my father who took me to nets at the nearby DDA Saket Sports Complex and helped fine tune my skills. He would often give me throw downs at home with a plastic ball which I faced with a mini bat. I have never taken professional coaching, since academics were always the priority.

3. What was your motivation that brought you in Cricket?
The passion and zeal for the game ran through the family. I remember walking up to Sourav Ganguly for an autograph at Palam Sports Ground before their tour to Toronto for the 1997 Sahara Cup. In that tournament, he was adjudged Man of the Series having won all the Man of the Match awards in each game of the series. That was my first tournament that I watched keenly on TV which drew me to the game. Thereafter, India’s nail biting win against Pakistan in the Independence Cup in Dhaka amongst many others kept me hooked.

4. Where do you and your team see yourself in coming 2 years?
The unique feature of our team is that majority of us belong to the same national law university cricket team (NUJS) in Kolkata. Now that most of us are based in Delhi working at the courts and various law firms, it is indeed exciting to play along-side college mates with whom I have shared unforgettable memories. Every member of the team gels together and camaraderie is high. The future looks tempting, and aim is to develop the team into one of the most liked and reputed cricket teams in Delhi NCR.

5. Where do you want to focus in order to improve your cricket?
To learn and inculcate world class batsmanship from the likes of modern day greats such as AB De Villiers and Virat Kohli.

6. One thing that you instantly need that would boost your game and also help your club to grow?
Networking and promotion which will help us in playing against quality teams and improving our game.

7. How are you contributing to promote your club and cricket in the community?
https://www.facebook.com/theunfit11

8. What are you and your club looking forward to, as improvements in the club?
The core of the team is lawyers and we would like to maintain the same for future. We invite interested lawyer cricketers to join our team and help achieve greater heights.

9. Where do you work currently?
I am a lawyer by profession currently practising in the Supreme Court of India, Delhi High Court, Lower Courts / Tribunals around Delhi.
