The Ontario Cricket Academy & Club is located at Mississauga (City in Ontario, Canada). The Club was founded in 2003 by Derek Perera. Within a time period of one year, the club achieved great success, The Ontario Cricket Academy became the earliest academy in North America with the indoor facility. This indoor facility helped the club to train their players throughout the year. Ontario Cricket Academy won division titles from Under 13 to seniors in their initial years.
Over the years various International as well as first class coaches visited the Ontario Cricket Academy for training & Coaching camps namely Mr. Sanath Jayasuriya, Mr. Ian Frazier, Mr. Robin Singh, Mr. Ashok Malhotra and Mr. Ian Pont. Many OC A&C players have gone on to represent Canada at all youth age group levels in international cricket tournaments. Apart from coaching, for development of youth teams Ontario Cricket Academy also arrange International tours, till the dates OCA has arranged 5 international tours. With the great impression on their First International tour the Ontario Cricket Academy and Club earned a match against the Trinidad and Tobago National U-16 team in 2010. In March 2011 the OCA created history as the first North American club or academy to tour Sri Lanka.
Ontario Cricket Academy and Clubs have summer as well as Winter Cricket programs from the age 4 and above. The club currently has Junior, Under 19, Women’s and Senior side of teams.
Derek Perera:Over the last decade, Derek Perera has become one of the most sought after and revered coaches in Canada - having produced many of the brightest talents in the country today.
Sunil Khandor: A teacher by profession, Sunil Khandor has been involved in coaching at the Ontario Cricket Academy since 2006, after first starting as a player. He has coached at all levels, helping shape the academy’s national players all the way to beginners as young as 5 years of age.
Sujeewa De Silva: Represented Sri Lanka at the Test level (2002-2007) and boasts over 200 First Class, List A and T20 matches to his name- has now turned his focus to coaching and grooming upcoming fast bowlers. He is now OC A&C's Fast Bowling Specialist Coach and Consultant and will be visiting for programs, workshops and clinics throughout the year.
Malintha Gajanayake: Simply a class player who captained Sri Lanka at the U15, U19 and Senior "A" team levels internationally, He will be handling OCA&C's Sri Lanka operations for future programs and plans.
