About Santosh Saxena - Bowling Coach
They say that success never has a direction. You don’t need tofollow any specific path to achieve it. Same was the case with Mumbai’s young lad Santosh Saxena. Santosh, who was born and brought up in a middle class family, no one would have thought of him playing in Ranji someday. But his sheer determination and hard work made this possible. There were ups and downs that Santosh faced in his early days when his father passed when he was a kid. Ultimately all the responsibilities came on his shoulder. Later, he lost his elder brother and this forced Saxena to quit the game and work with a tyre company to earn a living. But this was only temporary. This did not stop Saxena from playing the game he loved, in the process earning some prize money for his petty expenses.
Fate has been cruel to this young man, but his steady performance in Cricket field brought him back to track. He soon advanced from playing club and league matches to division cricket. Finally he was noticed by former Indian player Sanjay Manjrekar while playing a match and that became a turning point of his life. Since then there has been no looking back in the past. Santosh went on and on to achieve whatever he desired in the local circuit.
He made his debut against Gujrat in 1997-98 Ranji Season. Inspite of speedsters like Agarkar and Mhambrey in the team, Saxena with his sheer pace found a place for himself. Saxena Played for Mumbai for 5 years. After 2004, Saxena continued to serve Indian Railway for another 8 years in Ranji Trophy. He played Duleep Trophy and Deodhar Trophy for west zone.
