Sydney Cricket Club is one of the oldest Cricket Club in Sydney, Australia. And one of the well known Cricket Club for its continues success in the field of Cricket. The club has a very strong cricketing history. The club was formed in 1897 and that time the club was known as Balmain Electorate Cricket Club and included in the Sydney grade cricket competition. The club team has been joined by the teams like East Sydney, Paddington, Waverley, Glebe, South Sydney, Burwood, North Sydney, Redfern, Central Cumberland and Leichhardt.

Again in the period of 1900 to 1904 the club changed its name from Balmain Electorate Cricket Club to Leichhardt-Balmain District Cricket Club.  The Club has changed its name several times but finally in the year 2007 the club joined Sydney Cricket Ground Trust as a partnership to form Sydney Cricket Club. From 2007 the club is finally known to the world by the name of Sydney Cricket Club. From past 100 years the club has raised the level of Cricket in themselves by winning 7 club championships and 4 first grade premiership matches. The club also won a number of lower grade premiership matches. And through all of this tournaments the club has produced many players for their state. The club is Currently running Under Mr. Rodney Cavalier AO – President of the Club.

The club has a proper Mission and Vision towards the Cricket club. Mission is to grow players to be the best that they can be. To achieve unique success in player development, Sydney Tigers Cricket Club will be a 'university for cricket', its players proficient in key aspects of leadership, demonstrating a club culture and excelling in individual and team performance.

As of now the club is handling both the section Men’s as well women’s. The club also runs the Junior Academy Program.
