Optimists Cricket Club is based in Karlsruhe, Germany. The Club was established in the year 1976 and will celebrate their 40th anniversary on the 23rd July 2016. The Optimists Cricket Club caters to two sections: Men’s and Junior cricket. Club has 4 senior teams and Junior team. Club has around 70 Junior registered members which include steadily growing number of girls. The players participated from worldwide countries such as India, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. Players from non traditional nationalities also participate in the club which are from Austria, Belgium, Dutch, France, Germany, Italy, Iris , Russia and many more. From past 10 years more than 200 players have participated in the club.

Youth Development Program:

Optimists Cricket Club also conducts a youth development program in Luxembourg. For over 30 years club had created a stable structure of nurturing the players from the age group 6 through the immediate stages to full adult level. This program runs all year round, and provide schedule training to for U9, U11,U13,U15 and U19 children. Club also provide well qualified coaches to the teams. Coaches are ECB level 1 and level 2 certified. The Club also provides an exposure to players by playing matches which varies age wise.

Teams Compete at Indoor Cricket Tournament each winter. During the Summer, the club participates in other outdoor tournament. Club also hosts U11 International tournament with national teams from Belgium and Switzerland participating in this tournament.

From this programme club has managed to produce players who are representing at various levels of cricket and national teams of Luxembourg. Not only boys but girls from this program are doing exceptionally great in Belgian League. Two players from the club have represent national ladies team against Belgium.

Club has 3 senior teams such as

  • 1st Optimists XI
  • Optimists (Club Side)
  • WOCC

1st Optimists XI have played more than 16 matches every season which also covers major tournament like BCF T20.
