Today in the second ODI of PayTM series, England chased yet another tough target at Cuttak. It all started with the crucial toss that Virat Kohli got unlucky with and was asked to bat first by Eoin Morgan. England bowler Chris Woakes claimed three early wickets including Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul and The Run-Machine Virat Kohli.

Indian top order returned to pavilion in 4.4 overs. It was followed by fighting hundreds from Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni. Yuvraj Singh and Mahendra Singh Dhoni once again impressed all with experienced batting, building a partnership of 256 runs. Taking responsibility as senior players even under immense pressure they performed well. After that Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja continued the attack with the strike rate of 200 plus.

“We were fearless when we used to play together. We can hopefully do the same this time.” - Yuvraj Singh, had said before the match. All Indians were dying to see this performance from him. What a wonderful knock. He is a true die-hard batsman who will never give-up and keep playing attacking strokes.

Now it was time to show some wonderful knocks from England batsman but Jasprit Bumrah claimed Alex Hales in the 4’th over. Jason Roy and Joe Root now had to just find the gaps and they did so adding, 100 runs for second wicket without trouble.  Jason Roy scored a fantastic 82 runs from 73 balls. England skipper Eoin Morgan showed his batting power with a tremendous knock under pressure. Eoin Morgan scored 102 runs from 81 balls. Indian Bowlers bowled really well Ravichandran Ashwin took 3 wicket in 10 overs and Jasprit Bumrah took 2 wickets in 9 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ravindra Jadeja also managed to take one wicket each.

Record still remains unchanged as India has never lost a match when Yuvraj and Dhoni  scored a partnership of 100 runs plus. It was a great match, overall England gave a tough fight back which include some unforgettable knocks from Eoin Morgan and and Jason Roy. India have won the series by  winning first 2 matches in the 3 match series. Great to see Dhoni and Yuvraj gift Virat Kohli a win which is Virat’s first ODI Series as a captain. Hope the 3rd ODI  match will be as interesting as yesterdays match.
