1. Tell us about you?

Farhaan Behardien come to RJ's School of Cricket.I was born in one of the most beautiful cities in the world Cape Town South Africa. I’m a former professional cricket player who played first class cricket for 7 years at teams such as the Multiply Titans, Easterns, Northerns, Boland and Western Province. I am also a cricket coach for the past 13 years and in currently on my level 3 coaching course at the minute. This game is my passion whether it be playing or coaching. I love giving back to the game as it has given me a life filled with so much meaning.

I am founder at RJ's School of Cricket. It has been established for almost 2 years to date. I’m also head coach of Pinelands High school and assistant coach and Captain at Ottoman Cricket Club

Yes I am currently playing for Ottoman Cricket Club and in the UK for Stenhousemuir Cricket Club. I started playing at the tender age of 5 years old. I’ve managed to play Franchise and First class cricket in South Africa.

4. Do you play for any club or a team? Mention their names? When was it founded? Where are you working currently?

I play for Ottoman Cricket Club who are based in Cape Town Surrey Estate and have celebrated their 135 years birthday this year. I also play for Stenhousemuir Cricket Club in Scotland. I am the founder and head coach at RJ's School of Cricket, Head coach at Pinelands High School 1st team, an assistant coach at Ottoman Cricket Club and overseas player and coach at Stenhousemuir Cricket Club in Scotland.

5. Where do you and your team see yourself in coming 5 years? Where do you want to focus in order to improve your cricket?

RJ's School of Cricket would like to create dreams and opportunities for the kids of today. If their dream is to improve their confidence level, play cricket abroad in the UK or play for the Proteas 1day we would like to be the stepping stone for all kids and players to reach their goals and dreams. We know sports bring people together and there is no greater feeling than to put a smile on players faces. We as an Academy would like to upskill individuals not only on the cricket field but also in their daily lives.

RJ's School of Cricket held 2 masterclass events with international players such as Imran Tahir and Farhaan Behardien. 

Imran Tahir ran a spin Masterclass on the 9th of December 2016 And

Farhaan Behardien ran train like pro masterclass on the 4th and 5th April 2017.

8. Would you like to come to India for a tournament or a coaching camp?

Yes, it would be great any opportunity to coach or play abroad will be a fantastic opportunity to grow and learn from a coaches perspective as well as a player.

Or do you want to travel any other country (if Yes, please mention the name)?

 I would love to travel as much as possible to as many countries as possible.

Cricket Coaching camp at RJ's School of Cricket9. What are the challenges you are facing in your country's cricket? If any, how do you feel to overcome those challenges?

I think more development in the grass root areas. Coaches really getting their hands dirty to work with our development. This will help with crime and poverty as well.

10. One thing that you instantly need that would boost the involvement of people in your country's cricket?

We need more sponsorship and funding at the lower levels. So that coaches can give back to the community and this will uplift or youngsters of today for a better quality of life.
