SUPER CRICKET is what I can say when I review this match. Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Mumbai Indians was set to be an exciting, but this was a thrilling match.Tushar Sawant enjoy RCB vs MI ipl 2017

The toss was won by Mumbai Indians and they chose to field. The RCB batting was led by Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle. Virat took off to a good start, Gayle 22(27) hit some big shots but was not able to continue, getting out caught behind on the bowling of Hardik Pandya. The Kohli-Gayle partnership was 63 runs.

AB de Villiers came in to bat and Kohli kept on scoring the boundaries adding 47 runs together. Rohit Sharma sent in Krunal Pandya for bowling and AB de Villiers was struggling to score off him. Last season Krunal has taken AB’s wicket twice. Kohli 62(47) was out hitting a square cut caught at deep point region. He hit 5 fours and 2 sixes. Soon AB de Villiers 19(21) was out caught by a one-handed catch by Rohit Sharma on the bowling of Krunal Pandya.

RCB were 115/3 in 6.2 overs. Kedar Jadhav 9(8) was runout at the non-striker's end by Jasprit Bumrah, Mandeep Singh out bowled on zero by Mitchell McClenaghan. Negi 13 and Binny 6 could not take the runrate high in the last 3-4 overs. RCB finished 142/5 in 20 overs.

Mumbai Indians had an achievable target, RCB bowlers had to do something special to win this match. And what happened was really exciting for RCB team and fans.

Mumbai Indians start their batting with Parthiv Patel and Jos Butler. The 1st wicket fell of Jos Butler 2(5) caught Gayle at mid wicket bowled Stuart Binny. MI were 7/1 in 1.5 overs.

Samuel Badree came to bowl spin and took a hattrick, here are the wickets.

  1. Parthiv Patel 3(8) caught Chris Gayle at short cover
  2. M McClenaghan 0(1) caught Mandeep Singh at deep cover.
  3. Rohit Sharna 0(1) clean bowled on a googly by Samuel Badree

Now Mumbai Indians were 7/5 in 2.3 overs. Kieron Pollard and Nitish Rana were to bat ahead and it looked very difficult as the bowling of RCB were fully charged up and fielders motivated to clinch this match as a win for RCB. Nitish Rana 11(16) was out caught Sreenath Aravind on the bowling of Samuel Badree. Badree’s bowling figures were 4 overs 9 runs 4 wickets and economy of 2.25 and he bowled 17 dot balls. What a match-turning performance.

Mumbai Indians were under pressure now and Kieron Pollard their strong match finisher, but he needed support at the other end. Krunal Pandya 37(30) with 3 fours and 1 sixes gave the required batting strength to Pollard and Mumbai Indians. Pollard scored a strong 70 runs in 47 balls with 3 fours and 5 sixes. He was out caught by AB de Villiers at the boundary line on the bowling of Yuzvendra Chahal.

Hardik Pandya 9(4) hit the final runs with a big six and Mumbai Indians won the match by 4 wickets. What a comeback by MI and fighting innings by Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya. Great performance by RCB and truly exciting cricket with a thrilling win for Mumbai Indians.
